As part of this year’s opening event for Boyle Arts Festival, we are creating a series of sensory-friendly workshops for children and families who would like to participate in the visual movement on Thursday, 16th July, in a quieter, smaller-group environment.
These workshops are designed to support children who may benefit from a calmer, more supported introduction to the parade experience. Alongside a parent or supporting adult, children will explore a short movement piece inspired by the larger visual performance, allowing them to become familiar with the flow and choreography in a relaxed setting.
Participants will also work creatively with their parent or supporting adult to design and personalise elements of their costume for the parade. Adults attending the workshops will be invited to walk alongside their child during the visual movement, supporting participation, confidence and enjoyment throughout the event.
The workshops aim to create an inclusive and welcoming pathway into the festival, ensuring more children and families can experience the joy of creative participation in a way that feels accessible, supported and enjoyable for them.
Spaces are limited to 10 children (10 adults)
Time: 2 pm-3.30 pm
Date: Tuesday 15th July and Wednesday 16th July
