Celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2026, St Joseph's Church Choir joins forces with the internationally acclaimed ConTempo String Quartet for a special Boyle Arts Festival concert.
Formed in 2016 and directed by Anne Kielty, St Joseph's Church Choir has become an important part of the local musical community. The 50-member choir, made up of singers and musicians from across the region, has performed at festivals in Ireland and Spain and regularly presents a diverse repertoire ranging from sacred music to contemporary favourites.
For this unique performance, the choir will present a selection of much-loved works from its liturgical repertoire alongside specially arranged music by artists including The Beatles, Coldplay and Crowded House. The choir will be joined by guest performers Victoria Massey, Bernadine Casserly, Lynda Moyse and Jonathan Carter.
Accompanying them is the ConTempo String Quartet, one of Ireland's most distinguished chamber ensembles. Celebrating thirty years together, the quartet has performed almost 3,000 concerts worldwide, appearing in venues including Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall and the National Concert Hall. Winners of fourteen international awards and recognised for their outstanding contribution to music in Ireland and abroad, ConTempo are renowned for their versatility, artistry and commitment to collaboration.
Bringing together local voices and world-class musicians, this promises to be a memorable evening of choral and chamber music, celebrating both community and musical excellence.
