A walk through forest, along country lanes, a cliff and a sandy beach
A spectacular walk from East Linton, which can be accessed by bus or train, to the coast at Tyninghame. We will be walking through a variety of countryside: forest, along country lanes, a cliff and a sandy beach. There will be something for anyone.
The walk will be along good forest tracks, sandy beach and a short section along a minor road.
More information
The distance will be 19km / 12 miles. We will walk from East Linton station via Smeaton Farm, Binning Wood, to St Baldred’s Cradle along the coast. Then return along the beach to East Linton station via Garleton Walk, Binning Wood, Old Mansion House, and Drylaw Hill.
Please make sure you can comfortably walk 12 miles. There are no hills to climb so there will be little ascent.
Well-behaved and on the lead dogs are welcome.
The walk is not suitable for children.
There is a public toilet at the start of the walk opposite the station across the park.
There are a few cafes in East Linton.
What to bring
