Our opening show of the season: a monster of a show!
We be back!
The greatest night out in Folkestone returns for another thrill-filled season and the opening night will set the standard.
A night full of stand-up comedy with the most electric atmosphere outside that weird room at the end of the beach with all of Britain's electricity in it.
James O'Donoghue!
Christian Jegard!
Tom Pullen!
Ancika Mester!
And resident MC Dan Atkinson!
JAMES O'DONOGHUE
A trademark blend of surreal rants, gleeful rage and razor-sharp impressions has made James O'Donoghue one of the most distinctive voices to come out of the London comedy scene, blending gender, identity and pure chaos into hours that critics can't stop raving about. Whether skewering Soviet tank warfare or wrestling with eight-year-old hecklers, James builds sets that are as unpredictable as they are unmissable.
"I was in danger of throwing up from laughing." — Tim Harding, Chortle
CHRISTIAN JEGARD
With a self-styled vaudevillian flair and full-throttle showman's charm, Christian Jegard turns every set into a spectacle — part stand-up, part variety act, all delivered with the polish of someone who genuinely loves the stage. The Brighton-based comic, actor and writer has built a cult following through sketches, sitcom writing and relentless touring, earning a reputation as one of the circuit's most inventive entertainers.
"Such invention... witty, imaginative and different." — Chortle
ANICKA MESTER
An Australian import with a loosey-goosey, high-energy stage presence, Ancika Mester has quickly carved out a name on the London new-act scene, mixing sweaty, off-the-cuff charm with material that's earned her airtime on BBC Radio London. As part of Soho Theatre's Comedy Labs Plus and the acclaimed five-star Fringe show Gigl Comedy, she's fast building a reputation as one to watch.
TOM PULLEN
Making his much-anticipated debut on the Folkestone stage is one of the Alumni of the Folkestone Improv Theatre.
MC DAN ATKINSON
Behind the camera he's helped shape some of the biggest comedy hits on TV, but come and see why he's in just as much demand as a performer. A natural-born compere with cheeky, off-the-cuff storytelling, he's warmed up audiences for Stephen Merchant, hosted national tours, and built a reputation as one of the circuit's most reliable, big-hearted MCs.
"An inspired choice for compere." — Chortle
A QUICK NOTE ON LINE-UPS: Because we always strive to put on the very best comedians we can find, occasionally that means they will get TV work or something that means they will cancel on us last-minute. It happens. In this instance we will always replace them with someone of equal quality, but if you're travelling to see a specific performer it's worth dropping us a quick message to check there hasn't been any changes. xxx
