A Walk Around Ten Important Trees in Arbroath’s Western Cemetery with David Graham and David Tasker
Meet at 2pm sharp at the main gates of Arbroath's Western Cemetery at the junction of Forfar and Keptie Road..
Those of us familiar with Arbroath’s Western Cemetery know how beautifully planned and cared for this 19th century landscape is; the mature trees, beautifully clipped ewe bushes, avenues of holly and flowering cherry trees. This is an opportunity to join David Graham Arbroath Parks Services Officer, and David Tasker, Chargehand Gravedigger who look after this mighty historic cemetery.
Between them they have mapped out a guided walk around ten of the most important trees. David Tasker, in particularly, knows the cemetery so well, he can point things out and both our guides will answer questions on the way.
At the centre of the cemetery, as all the avenues converge, is the Patrick Allan Fraser Mortuary Chapel, one of Scotland’s most important Arts & Crafts buildings, also open for Angus Open Doors weekend.
We will be collecting donations towards the planting of new trees for the cemetery please bring cash for the bucket.
