Information

Inspired by the life of David Stuart, The Patron Saint of Soho follows a young Australian who arrives in London in the late 1980s searching for freedom, reinvention and belonging. Drawn into the vibrant and dangerous world of Soho, David rises from escort to influential figure within the city's nightlife and queer community, forging intense friendships and finding love amidst the devastation of the AIDS epidemic. As success, addiction and self-destruction threaten to consume him, David must confront the wounds of his past and the choices that have shaped his life. Spanning two decades of social change, the play is a moving, funny and heartbreaking portrait of a flawed but unforgettable man whose impact would ultimately reach far beyond the streets of Soho.
