Mythography presents

This Way for the Damned (or the lamentable death of the scoundrel Don Juan) - A work in progress sharing ft. Edinburgh's grassroots theatre scene.

Join us for an evening of theatre, live music and fearless experimentation, featuring Mythography's latest work-in-progress, alongside excerpts from the best of Edinburgh's grassroots theatre scene.

A legendary womaniser with nihilistic tendencies, Don Juan runs from swarms of spiteful ex-lovers, disapproving fathers, vengeful knights-errant, ghouls and deadly visions out to get him, while finding pleasure and wreaking havoc on the way. Join us for an outrageous and farcical joy ride straight to damnation. This Way for the Damned is an irreverent, part-devised ensemble piece loosely based on Moliere’s Don Juan. It’s a queer, clownish, physical tragicomedy about masculinity, love and friendship on the brink of Hell.

Praise for past work

“A wild and ferocious Antigone… powerful and shocking. Close to perfection”
***** Northwest end

“One of the best and most complete works at the fringe. Dazzling”
****½ A Youngish Perspective

Mythography is a cross-cultural collective of emerging theatre-makers based in Edinburgh. They build bridges between languages, cultures, and eras through wild rewritings and new translations to provoke today’s audiences with stories beyond borders. Their practice combines rich poetic texts, a striking visual language, and experimental movement work to reveal the raw subversive power of collective myth making.
