Mindaugas Stumbras is a Lithuanian jazz guitarist based in Glasgow. He is a new generation jazz musician who plays both, modern jazz and contemporary music. His music is very dynamic, colourful and versatile. Beautiful and picturesque compositions are influenced by broad European jazz scene, American jazz tradition, Lithuanian folk music and Scandinavian improvisational music scene. Exciting and emotional melodies represent a mature and soft northern sound which sometimes can be interrupted by massive bursts of power and dissonance. Melancholic and nostalgic melodies merged with meditative flow of the harmony create a warm atmosphere that shapes the way this music sounds.
Mindaugas plays with the finest international jazz musicians all around the Europe like Kenny Wollesen, Tommy Smith, Luis Bonilla, Kenneth Dahl Knudsen, Alyn Cosker, Mario Caribe, Fergus McCreadie, Dalius Naujokaitis, Peter Smrdel, Graham Costello, Moreno Maugliani, Donatas Petreikis, Michelangelo Scandroglio and etc. Also features in different bands like Brave Noises, JM Jazz World Orchestra, Tommy Smith's Orchestra, Tadas Pasaravicius Quintet.
