Information

Dacre Stoker, great grand-nephew of Bram Stoker and best-selling co-author of Dracula the Un-Dead and Dracul, is an internationally well-known and respected figure in the world of vampires, delivering associated lectures and events worldwide. In this event, Dacre and actor/founder of Firebrand Theatre Company Ellie Zeegen, discuss how her unique connections with a little-known Scottish woman writer, Emily Gerard, author of Transylvanian Superstitions (1885) and The Land Beyond the Forest (1888), have surfaced in Dacre’s research. Together they will reveal how one woman’s courageous walks in the Carpathian Mountains led to Bram Stoker being inspired to write one of the greatest gothic novels ever written, Dracula.
