Quarterly short-film night on Brick Lane. 10 films, a fireplace, a room full of artists, free popcorn. A space for filmmakers to connect.
Day Job Films has partnered with Galleria Objets, an independent gallery on Brick Lane, to launch a new short film screening series: The Day Job Short Film Festival.
Every three months, we showcase ten short films to a live audience of artists, filmmakers, and the wider creative community. Our goal is to break the film world out of the cinema and into new spaces - where filmmakers meet painters, designers, photographers, and performers, and where new collaborations begin.
This isn't just a screening. It's a conversation between art forms - a celebration of emerging voices and stories told from every background, style, and experience level.
Awards presented each edition:
🏆 The Cullinan Diamond - Breakthrough Filmmaker Award
❤️ The Lyon Heart - For Brave Filmmaking
🎥 The Day Job Award - Audience Vote
🎨 The Galleria Award - For artistic resonance within the gallery community
🎞️ The Isles Award - Best UK Film
Winners receive handmade awards, custom laurels, social media promotion across Day Job Film's channels, and priority consideration for future screenings and projects.
All short films are welcome - any genre, any length, any premiere status. Attendance is encouraged but not mandatory.
Come join our growing community - for a night of films, conversation and free popcorn in the heart of Brick Lane.
