East Linton Circular Walk

a wonderful opportunity to explore the countryside around East Linton

10:00am ‐ 2:00pm
The Mart
haddington road, East Linton, EH40 3DN

Information

Explore the beautiful area around the picturesque town of East Linton with a walk hosted by the Meet Up and Walk Group.

The route starts at the historic Mart and follows a good path on a gentle climb northwards to Drylaw where you will have lovely views across the East Lothian countryside. From there you will walk past the country house at Newbyth, and then on the newly surfaced and signposted path to Smeaton, the site of another country house (now demolished), and the return to East Linton.

What to bring

Although the route uses pavements and firm paths, please make sure you have appropriate footwear to be complete the distance comfortably. Bring along a drink and a snack, and a waterproof - just in case.

We also advise you bring your own first aid kit.

More information

We are happy for up to four people to bring along one well-behaved dog each as long as it is kept on a lead. There is the possibility of livestock in the fields close to the route. Please select the correct option when booking.

Getting there

Public transport is available from Haddington, Dunbar and Musselburgh.
