The Face Within The Face is an interactive workshop performance that brings together Sichuan Opera face changing and the Vakhtangov acting approach. Drawing from the cultural roots of face changing in the Bashu region, where it carries traces of ritual, spirituality, and everyday life — the work explores transformation as both performance and embodied tradition. Through live transformation, physical performance, and mask-making, masks become living elements within the space, shifting between costume, object, and image. The session includes live performance, hands-on mask interaction, and digital elements.
Recommended for ages 10 and above. No trigger and content warning.
