Join acclaimed director Tim Pope as he delves into his fascinating 40-year career in music video and film. In conversation with broadcaster Vic Galloway, Tim will discuss his upcoming memoir, ‘My Weird Eye: Adventures in the Golden Age of the Music Video,’ and read excerpts, offering insights into his collaborations with iconic artists such as David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Queen, Siouxsie & the Banshees, and Scotland’s own Strawberry Switchblade. It was his groundbreaking work with The Cure, however, that cemented his name in the music video hall of fame, having produced over 30 of their unforgettable videos. Beyond music videos, Tim navigated 1990s Hollywood to make a movie, even surviving the notorious Weinstein brothers, Harvey and Bob. Looking ahead, he's currently working on a cinema documentary about The Cure, slated for release in 2028, and a movie starring French actress Beatrice Dalle. Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear firsthand from a visionary director who has shaped the visual landscape of music for decades and to see highlights from his extensive filmography. All ages are welcome. Under 16s must be accompanied by an over 18. This is a seated event (unreserved). The Dome venue is wheelchair accessible.
