Amisfield Forage with Neville Kilkenny

Join Neville Kilkenny on a 90-minute guided walk to explore the many plants and fungi that can be found in hedgerows and woodlands during late spring and learn which ones are considered edible.

1:30pm ‐ 3:00pm
Haddington Golf Course
Whittinghame Drive, Haddington, EH41 4PT

Information

The meeting point for this walk will be Haddington Golf Course and we will explore the area between here and Amisfiled Walled Garden. The driveway goes past the club house and then turns to the right into a larger carpark. You can park here unless on foot. If you continue on instead of going into the carpark, you are on the track to Amisfield (as a guide) We will meet at the entrance to this carpark, which is the last turning on the right after the clubhouse.

Nev leads many forays throughout the year and is happy to discuss which species are considered the best edibles, and the dangers of collecting those that aren’t. As well as discovering the amazing diversity of fungi to be found in Scotland, we explore the important role fungi play in the functioning of life on our planet and in our own everyday lives. He also teaches identification workshops for The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE), as well as several other organisations.
