Utsav Lal is recognized as the rarest of pianists, known for his groundbreaking interpretation of Indian classical ragas on the piano. Deeply rooted in Dhrupad, His performances weave together elements of jazz, celtic music and creative improvisation creating a deeply immersive listening experience. Lal’s ground-breaking work has garnered an impressive career spanning two decades, with solo performances at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall (New York), Southbank Centre (London), Kennedy Center (Washington DC), Steinway Hall (New York), Asia Society (Hong Kong), Arts Center (Melbourne). Influenced by a vast array of sources such as his guru Wasifuddin Dagar, The Necks, Tsege Mariam Guebro and Ran Blake, The Irish Times describes Utsav Lal as “ highly evocative and dazzling.” Utsav has 9 records released including the solo record of ragas on a groundbreaking microtonal piano called “The Fluid Piano” and has collaborated with several artists like Martin Hayes, L.Shankar, Doug Wieselman, Ganavya, Australian Contemporary Circus Theatre CIRCA, Talvin Singh, Sam Comerford, George Brooks, Miles Okazaki, Rajna Swaminathan, Kala Ramnath.
Daniel Luke is pianist, composer and arranger hailing from Cabra, Dublin. In 2023 he released his debut album Shadow Dance, a collection of solo piano works.
Since the release Daniel has completed a Masters in Composition for Film and TV and has worked on a number of short films and screen projects,including composing original music for Bobby Fingers.
In 2025 Daniel released My Father’s Son, a critically acclaimed piece for
piano and cello. This release began his continued collaboration with cellist Lizzi Murtough.
In 2026, Daniel spent a week in the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, finalising the compositions for his latest solo piano offering, a set of piano etudes. The Etudes intend to develop areas of his technique, compositions and pedagogy,as well as being standalone pieces to enjoy.Daniel’s music blends years of classical training with contemporary, jazz, and neoclassical influences. Through his compositions and collaborations, Daniel is crafting a unique and captivating soundworld.
