Understanding the evocative power of everyday objects in writing a show.
Following their return to Manipulate Festival in 2024 with L’Amour du Risque and Envahisseurs (Invaders), we are delighted to be hosting a workshop aimed at professional artists, led by Olivier Rannou, artistic director of the Bakélite company, and Morien Nolot.
Heavily inspired by cinema and popular culture, Olivier Rannou transforms materials and objects to create surprising scenography and theatrical writing that highlights adventure and comedic situations. The Bakélite Company is a renowned object theatre company in France and internationally.
This workshop is suitable for professionals, educators, and anyone who wants to discover the world of object theatre.
In addition to the workshop, participants will receive a ticket to see Hostile by The Bakélite Company as part of the Edinburgh International Festival.
Workshop – French Institute – 9:30 am to 12:30pm
Performance – Church Hill Theatre – 6.00pm
