RAMP Workshop 1 - Kate Carr and Guillaume Beauron

Workshop with Kate Carr (soundscape composition) and Guillaume Beauron (field recording practice)

10:00am ‐ 5:00pm
Various venues
Rathmullan

Information

Kate Carr's practice explores the encounters, textures and technologies entangled with field recording using movement, objects and experimental recording techniques. Working across composition, performance and installation, Kate is particularly focused on hybrid soundscapes: where forest meets town, nuclear power plant meets wetland, booming car stereo meets residential street.

Guillaume Beauron is a sound recordist, sound designer, and composer. With a rich background in both technical and artistic sound work, he has contributed to major film productions as a boom operator. He began his career in France, eventually becoming “Chef Opérateur du Son” on documentary series for France 3, and has since recorded sound for over 60 documentaries for renowned broadcasters. His musical journey includes classical and jazz piano, electroacoustic composition and musique concrète.
