A Folk, Hip-hop Musical based on the events of the 1745 Jacobite uprising
“The 45: A Jacobite Musical” is a fictional story based on the real events of the Jacobite uprising. The story follows a group of Jacobite soldiers throughout Bonnie Prince Charlie’s (Prince Charles III) campaign, as they prepare for the infamous Battle of Culloden. Under the shadow of the impending battle, the group is met with conflicts between each other and within themselves.
This genre-bending musical is a triumphant and tragic tale of the trials and tribulations of war, and the sacrifices a soldier must make when faced with impossible choices. Will the troops crumble as they face death or will they find a way to persevere together? And when the day of reckoning dawns what legacy will they leave behind?
