Doors at 7pm
Dowally is a thrilling contempary-folk duo of fiddler Rachel Petyt and guitarist Dan Abrahams. Described as “Utterly enchanting” by Songlines magazine, the musicians take a rootsy approach to original compositions and weave in influences from Klezmer, jazz, American old time and everything in-between. Expect songs and tunes which will both captivate and make you want to move your feet.
For this special launch of their new album 'Local News', they will be joined by flautist Freya Rae and cellist Graham Coe.
Freya Rae is a flute/clarinet player from the Borders, well-loved in the Scottish trad scene for both her stunning writing and virtuosic playing. Pianodrome audiences will know her from her recent album launch 'Divergence'. Cellist and regular Dowally collaborator.
Graham Coe can be found in a million projects all accross Scotland, from Jellyman's Daughter to Tinderbox Orchestra, and Blue Rose Code to Kate Young.
