New Orleans style pianist Mike Kearney along with trumpeter Charles Dearness join us at Pianodrome Bruntsfield for a delightful Saturday afternoon performance.
About the artist:
Pianist and vocalist Mike Kearney brings an authentic New Orleans spirit to the stage, blending traditional jazz, blues, ragtime, and boogie-woogie with his own distinctive style. His performances evoke the lively streets of 1920s Storyville while adding fresh energy, including Dr. John-inspired takes on his favourite Laurel Canyon songs from the 60s and 70s.
Joining him is special guest Charles Dearness, a versatile and highly sought-after trumpeter whose expressive playing recalls the character and command of Louis Armstrong himself. Together, they deliver an uplifting experience rooted in timeless traditions, full of warmth, originality, and the unmistakable charm of early jazz music.
