Orphean Sprig are an instrumental folk band with a shared passion for the traditional music of Scotland. Comprised of a guitar, three fiddles, and an occasional viola!
Originally crossing paths in the session scene of Cambridge, Orphean Sprig are an instrumental folk band with a shared passion for the traditional music of Scotland. Comprising a guitar, three fiddles, and occasional viola, they explore arrangements of traditional, contemporary, and self-penned tunes, creating a rich texture and original sound. As a nod to their beginnings, they like to include an element of spontaneity in performances, a characteristic of the sessions in which they met. Their debut EP ‘Wandering’ was released in summer 2023.
Venue Info
The Granton Pianodrome is a DIY grassroots venue set in a warehouse on an Industrial estate shared with some van rental companies and used car sales. Ours is the most colourful unit at the end: You'll see a grand piano on top of a shipping container!
Toilets: please note that we simply have one compost toilet at this venue (made out of pianos) which may not be accessible for some guests. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and assure you that we are doing our best to remedy this issue.
