Join us for a night of acoustic folk, indie and Americana with three of Edinburgh’s finest - Paper Sparrows, Other Dog and Amy Hill - performing in no particular order.
Formed in 2018, Scotland’s roots folk/Americana trio Paper Sparrows bring together roots folk and americana through a contemporary approach with their twin-guitar lines, double bass and close harmonies. The band have graced the stages of the Cambridge Folk Festival, Celtic Connections, FolkEast, the Fringe as well as hosting the famous Folksville nights in Edinburgh. The band’s “rich songwriting craft” (Shindig! Magazine) is described as "nfectious" by AmericanaUK. RnR Magazine said “the epithet ‘debut album’ belies the depth of skill and experience behind of the band members”. The first half of 2026 will see the band releasing the follow up to first album ‘Hiding Away From The Light’.
Other Dog are a 3-5 piece, playing original music on the folky/melodic side of indie. The group is based in Edinburgh, but hails from Cornwall, Germany, New Zealand, Hampshire and sunny Scotland. Hopefully you can hear these places in the tunes. They're folk songs, in one way or another. Live performances include Celtic Connections 2025 and their music has been featured on a number of UK and EU radio stations.
Amy Hill is a favourite of Edinburgh's folk/Americana scene, and she has traveled all across Scotland with her music. Her roots/revival style heartbreak folk songs are backed up by a voice that will have your neck hairs jacked-up. Think Leonard Cohen meets Laura Marling over a glass of wine.
