Help us bless the nascent orchard next to our Granton warehouse in this folk ritual led by the inimitable Portnawak and the Woo with Caro Overy and special guests.
We invite you to join us in celebrating the humble yet nutritious apple by joining us in upholding the folk tradition of wassailing. With help from local community choir leader Caro Overy and rural folk rabble-rousers Portnawak and the Woo we're acknowledging the spirit of winter and wishing the apple trees the best of luck for the year to come.
Next to our Granton warehouse sits a young urban apple orchard, which will benefit those who care for it. If looked after well, and with luck, this clutch of around 30+ young trees will begin to bear fruit in a couple of years time. It suffered in last year's droughts, which took a few trees down and hindered the growth of many, but most of these hardy trees survive and need our encouragement and support to flourish.
We will also be looking for help to tend the trees from 11-2pm on the day - please email info@pianodrome.org if you'd like to help with this.
