To quote Josie Long, sometimes if you want something to exist, you have to make it yourself. As an emerging writer, setting up your own project – whether it’s an open mic night or magazine, a writers’ group or something else altogether – is a great way to grow your skills and your network, and to gain a new perspective on your own writing.
In this event, we’ll hear from Laura Jones-Rivera from 404 Ink, Jamie Pettinger, who co-founded EHFM community radio and Julia Sorensen of Rock the Boat about how they built their own projects from the ground up, and the skills they learned along the way.
