Children's Sourdough Flatbread-making workshop with Hannah Ewan ( (8 people max/1 hour)
This workshop is dedicated to the late Mrs Mary Munro, whose children donated her shareholding to support passing on food and cooking skills to the next generation. Mary loved good food, healthy cooking and feeding families, and we are grateful to her and her children for their support of Scotland The Bread and our shared aims.
In this hands-on workshop children will learn how to mix up and cook off fermented sourdough flatbreads, made using organic Scotland The Bread flour. They will learn how a sourdough starter adds volume and flavour to their baking, and while we wait for the magic microbes to do their work we will whizz up some fresh hummus to enjoy with our hot breads. Children will take home a flexible recipe that will allow them to recreate their breads at home, and experiment with other baked creations too.
This workshop is open to children ages 6 - 15. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
This event is not suitable for people with nut or seed allergies as we'll be using sesame.
