Scott's Jazz Club presents: Julian Costello Quartet

8:30pm ‐ 11:30pm
Ballyhackamore working mens club
1 sandown road, Belfast

Information

Julian Costello is a saxophonist, composer and teacher from London. He writes the music for various ensembles and tries to approach life with humour. For his debut outing at Scott’s Jazz Club, he’ll be joining forces with our co-founder Scott Flanigan on piano, alongside resident rhythm section of Rohan Armstrong on the bass and Andrew McCoubrey on the drums.

"Julian Costello is a sax lyricist, telling his stories of life’s ups and downs with perfect alteration of tone to impart strength, humour and even frailty. This is a great album, strong, tenacious in its quality and simply makes a great listen" - Jazz In Europe

"Julian Costello proved a charming host, introducing the audience to some fine original compositions, and tenor playing of a gentle authority; full of passion, lyricism and invention all delivered with a full and vibrant tone" - Jazz Views, March 2024
