Information

In the 20th century, Beneagles was the blended whisky brand of the Finn Thomson family. Launched in 1924, Beneagles was created by Peter Thomson (Finn Thomson’s great great grandfather) who upon hearing that a new luxury hotel was opening just down the road from his grocers store in Perth declared that "every Glen should have a Ben". In the 1960s his grandfather Michael took the brand to new heights, marketing the brand through creative ceramic bottlings and ensuring that it became a must have for pubs across Scotland and indeed the rest of the world.

When his Grandfather sold the brand in the 1980s he rather cannily kept the casks from the distilleries that made up the component parts of his blend. Finn is incredibly lucky to now be able to hand select a number of these casks for bottlings under the Finn Thomson whisky brand. This tasting will be a walk through of a selection of these casks which should have gone into Beneagles at a young age but instead are now bottled as old and rare single cask releases.

You will join Finn to sample Longmorn 34 year old, Tamnavulin 33 year old, Dufftown 34 year old, Glen Garioch 36 year old and North British 35 year old, casks all distilled in his grandfather's era.

The Whisky Castle were very impressed with the quality of liquid and presentation from Finn Thomson and are proud to be a retail partner. For this truly unique tasting experience, sessions are limited to only 9 guests and will last for one hour, to ensure an in depth and informative tasting, allowing time for questions and discussions around the fabulous Finn Thomson story while sampling these wonderful whiskies.

15ml drams will be poured
