Canoe Journey through Speyside

Paddle 'The Whisky River' from Knockando to Telford Bridge, Craigellachie

As well as learning/honing canoe skills and having the excitement of paddling through several ‘fun’ rapids, guests will be able to enjoy the beauty of our beautiful river, rich in it’s early summer colours.

En route, by Carron Bridge , paddlers enjoy a delicious buffet lunch and at the end of the trip, guests are treated to an extensive Speyside whisky tasting.

Provided: Expert canoe coaching/guiding ~ incl. local social/natural history; all required canoe equipment ~ canoes, paddles, buoyancy aids, etc.; any required clothing/footwear; tasty picnic-lunch & virtual ‘Spey Descent’ through a selection of excellent Speyside malts.
(As with most Festival events, use of taxi or public transport is recommended. If one is required to drive following our canoe trip, thus unable to take part in the whisky tasting, then you are welcome to bring with you a small, distillery-type dram-sample kit.)

Bring: Clothes you don't mind getting wet. Warm layers, fleece items, etc., lightweight waterproof shell, old trainers or similar (your feet will get wet); your change of clothes/valuables can be left safely at our meeting-point, which is also the finish-point. Water or other non-alcoholic drinks to avoid dehydration.
Note: Drivers' drams are not available.

In travelling to and FROM this event guests are strongly advised to travel by bus or taxi.

Stagecoach Bluebird Service 36: Runs between Elgin and Dufftown, stopping in Craigellachie every two hours, Monday to Saturday. Please check Stagecoach website for timetables.
