Join local chef legend David Alexander for a cookery masterclass with a focus on local flavours
David Alexander is one of Galloway's most loved chef talents, with a CV that includes some of the finest kitchens in the UK and France. Currently Head Chef at Dunskey Estate and previously Executive Chef at Glenapp Castle, David has worked with Hywel Jones at Lucknam, Adam Byatt at Trinity Clapham, Bruno Oger at La Villa Archange Cannes and Tom Kitchin at The Kitchin in Edinburgh.
That training has shaped a chef of real precision, with a strong instinct for the produce on his doorstep. David's cooking is rooted in the seas, fields and gardens of Galloway, and his Saturday afternoon demonstration is a chance to see how a chef of his calibre draws on the region's exceptional larder, transforming it with technique and training.
He'll be joined in the Kitchen Marquee by our local cookery demos host, Stranraer's Helen Cross, the food and gardening writer and presenter, whose seasonal sensibility makes her a natural host for an afternoon of considered, locally-focused cooking.
