Information

For our last film night of the season, we're excited to bring you two fantastic and thought-provoking films, Return, and Devil's Bird, along with talks from a line-up of local inspirational nature champions.

Return
A transportive new film which brings to life the RSPB and partners’ successful 50 year-long endeavour to bring the White-tailed Eagle back to our shores. The film blends spellbinding, present-day footage of the birds thriving in their Scottish heartlands with archival gems, and features leading voices including RSPB Ambassadors Dave Sexton (who has been integral to the reintroduction project) and Nadeem Perera (co-founder of bird-watching collective Flock Together), who share their passion for the birds, alongside musician and sound artist Alice Boyd.

"Return isn’t just a nature story, it’s a lesson in resilience, hope, and what passionate people can achieve when they set their minds to something.”

  • Mark Fountain, RSPB’s Managing Multimedia Editor

Devil's Bird
An award winning film about the life of swifts, created by renowned film maker and biologist Dr Derek Bromhall.

Speakers
Following these two films we'll hear from Kirriemuir Scout Group about their experience and learning from participating in the Standing with Swifts project alongside Sustainable Kirriemuir last year, and what's to come in 2026.

We'll also hear from Jonathan Pattullo, experienced local birder and SK volunteer, about the white-tailed sea eagle populations in Scotland, and locally.

All money raised from ticket sales will be used towards furthering Sustainable Kirriemuir's work. If cost is a barrier for you to attend this event, please contact us at info@sustainablekirriemuir.co.uk to discuss.

Photography
We take photographs at our events to help promote our activities and impacts. These photographs will be used on our social media channels including this website, and for the purposes of reporting to funders.
