Come along to our Community Garden for an informal skill-sharing session on getting your seeds started for a successful season of growing.
Led by Zoe, Food & Growing Project Officer, and Sally, Community Garden Volunteer, we'll be teaching you how to get the most out of your seeds and their individual needs. We'll cover the basics of temperature (stratification), light, moisture, and compost.
We'll also cover some root and softwood cuttings among other propagation techniques on plants growing around our Community Garden. If you have any questions about your own plants, e.g. identification or how to propagate, please bring a picture or name and we’ll do our best to help!
Please dress for the weather conditions on the day, and wear sturdy footwear as some of the ground in the Community Garden is uneven.
We'll have the kelly kettle on for tea and coffee, so please bring along your own mug if you can.
Important Information
Children under 18 must be supervised by a responsible adult - the workshop will probably be boring for them though, so please only bring children if you think they will be able to occupy themselves while you get stuck in! Any questions, please ask!
This is a free event but donations are welcome to support Sustainable Kirriemuir. You can donate by choosing a supporter ticket when booking or with cash on the day.
