4 ACTS OF LIVE MUSIC
Edwin R Stevens
(FKA Irma Vep/The Web of Lies) is a musician and writer from Llanfairfechan, Wales. After fifteen years and over thirty releases under the Irma Vep moniker, Edwin released his debut solo album proper, GOD ON ALL FOURS, on legendary Welsh label, Ankst in 2023. His debut novel, SEAGULLS, was released in 2020 via Very Bon Books and was one of Dennis Cooper's (Closer, I Wished) favourite books that year. Edwin currently lives in Glasgow with his family.
Len Goetzee is a queer artist living and working in Glasgow hailing from Manchester. Through a trans methodology of collapse and dispossession they excavate a past enmeshed with the non-human and the more than human. Binaries breakdown and temporalities become twisted; an anti-propulsive practice reversing into queer resistance and into old futures.
Boab
Robbie Houston, an underground figure in the Glasgow music scene, continues to defy convention with the release of his solo debut album, Open Wider the Door. Known primarily as the frontman of the enigmatic band Sweaty Palms, Houston steps into uncharted territory with this deeply personal and minimalist offering. Eschewing the layered instrumentation and collaborative energy of his previous work, Houston strips his music down to its rawest form—strings, no drums, harmonies—focusing instead on the visceral, emotional core of his craft.
Glow-wirM
“Blown-out, frenetic industrial electronics. Punk and noise inflected, pulsing through a backdrop of orchestral strings.”
CURRENTMOODGIRL
Industrial electronic pop. Greta Edith, of Manchester’s ‘Pearl City’ (Sunday Best Records) and ‘Bernard and Edith’ (Bella Union), is charting a course through new terrain with her latest project, CURRENTMOODGIRL.
A true northern chanteuse; with her velvety-soft vocal melodies threading the needle between anchoring basslines and heavy, distorted beats, Edith creates a melancholy pop sound that is daringly expressive.
