Megan Henderson is a multi-instrumentalist and singer hailing from the West Highland town of Fort William and 2022 MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards Musician of the Year. Megan Henderson’s profile continues to flourish with the 2022 release of her debut solo album Pilgrim Souls, an instrumental and vocal suite inspired by the art work of fellow Fort William native Christine Clark. Her versatility and technical skill make Megan a much in demand session musician, performing and recording with artists including Breabach, Duncan Chisholm, the Grit Orchestra, Salsa Celtica, and Kim Carnie.

Megan is delighted to return to the Scots Fiddle Festival this year with her newly formed trio comprising Su-a Lee (Cello/Saw) and Alistair Iain Paterson (Piano/Harmonium). Together, they combine beauty, energy and finesse to create a versatile programme of original music and song.

Northern Resonance
This Scandinavian string trio takes newly-composed folk music into enormous soundscapes. With their previously untested combination of instruments; viola d’amore, hardanger fiddle and nyckelharpa they let Scandinavian music meet explosive rhythms and grand chamber-like arrangements that takes folk music in a new direction.

All members are highly skilled and accomplished musicians, rooted in traditional music. With an intense musical connection that is rare to come across, they invite you into their world of compositions.

There is great life in their tunes, and the trio knows how to bring it out. With their debut album which was released in the autumn of 2020, Northern Resonance have already established themselves with a glorious sound. The album was nominated for a Swedish Grammy and they recently released their second album Vision of Three.

During 2024, the trio are performing in Australia, Chile, Colombia, Germany, USA, Canada, England and Scotland, all under the name Vision Tour 2024.
