Mike McCarthy, a guide at Rathcroghan Visitor Centre, is currently touring his one-man storytelling show, Who Shot Queen Medb?

The idea for the show grew organically over several years, rooted in Ireland’s rich storytelling tradition. Through his work, Mike was regularly invited by organisations such as Fáilte Ireland, Western Development Commission, and local authorities to share stories—especially those connected to the legendary Queen Medb—at festivals and events across County Roscommon.

Those repeated requests sparked the idea of developing something more substantial: a full evening dedicated to storytelling. That vision came to life with Who Shot Queen Medb?, which premiered at Roscommon Arts Centre in August 2025.

Following the strong response and positive feedback from audiences, Mike is now bringing the show on the road—sharing these powerful, entertaining, and distinctly Irish tales with audiences across the country.
